CONSULTANT | ACCOUNT SPECIALIST
Mikalee Byerman (which rhymes with "prickly fireman" - though she claims to be neither grumpy nor particularly adept at fire suppression) is an author, humor essayist, master storyteller, marketing consultant and keynote speaker.
She is the author of the best-selling regional travel guide, "100 Things to Do in Reno Before You Die," and her writing has been featured in Ladies' Home Journal, and on the Huffington Post. She was twice voted "Best Local Author" in the Reno News & Review's Best of Nevada awards; she also held the "Best Creative Writer" designation.
Mikalee holds a master's degree in journalism and has spent more than a decade in executive marketing roles creating client strategies, identifying unique value propositions, crafting brands and writing copy that delivers results. She is also a humor strategist (yes, that's a thing), channeling her C-suite background to teach others how to sparkle their marketing and spark creativity at work.
Mikalee is especially drawn to complicated stories with lots of humans in them. Her approach begins with listening closely enough to find the detail, experience or shared idea that makes a big initiative feel relevant to the people it needs to reach. She has applied that instinct across education, banking, tourism, professional services and community initiatives, helping organizations find stories people genuinely want to hear.
She spends her spare time with her gloriously weird daughter and high-maintenance dog, often while Face Timing her two adult kids.
